Lauren's Boston Chapter
2008-2025
Seventeen Years of Legacy, Love, and Community in Boston
As a Jamaican-born and raised island girl, I came to Boston in 2008 to pursue my collegiate education at Suffolk Sawyer Business School. What began as an academic journey quickly became a purpose-driven mission. I was struck by how underrepresented BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities were in Boston’s nightlife, and my Caribbean roots made it impossible to ignore. Determined to change that narrative, I committed myself to creating spaces that reflected the city’s true diversity and energy.
In the early days, the industry was competitive and often closed off to new voices, but I was undeterred. I began connecting people, curating experiences, and using every challenge as motivation to open doors that had long been closed to others. Over time, those efforts evolved into a movement built on authenticity, collaboration, and community trust.
The Birth and Mission of Snatched Entertainment
After years of hosting successful events, Snatched Entertainment, LLC was officially registered in 2021. Its mission has always been to create inclusive, intentional spaces that celebrate and uplift BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals. Snatched became more than an entertainment company; it grew into a platform where creativity, belonging, and representation thrived.
Empowering women and womxn-identifying DJs, artists, and creatives in a male-dominated industry has been one of my greatest honors. Watching their growth and the joy our community found through these events reaffirmed the importance of this work. Snatched became a space where people could show up fully as themselves, free of judgment, and surrounded by love and culture.
A Legacy of Firsts and Lasting Impact
Serving the Boston community for 17 years has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Together, we redefined what inclusive nightlife could look like, diversified spaces across the city, and built relationships that turned into lifelong friendships. I’m proud to have helped pave the way for many of today’s DJs, producers, and creatives while opening doors to venues that once felt out of reach.
As I step away, I do so knowing that the community is thriving in the hands of other talented and passionate producers who continue to carry the torch. The impact of these years will always remain a part of Boston’s cultural fabric.
A New Chapter in France
This next chapter is not a goodbye but a new beginning. I am relocating to France to embrace a season of healing, reflection, and renewal. The move also allows me to be present for my mother, who lives with Dementia, while stepping back from years of corporate intensity and creative burnout.
During my one-year long-stay visa, I will not be permitted to work, which gives me space to slow down and refocus. If you’ve ever attended a Snatched event, danced with us, or felt the impact of this journey, I invite you to contribute to my travel fund to help cover rent, food, and living expenses as I transition abroad. As we say in Jamaica, “Every mickle mek a muckle”—every little bit counts, and your support truly means the world.
Thank you to everyone who has shared in this chapter of my life. Boston, you gave me purpose, family, and unforgettable memories. I carry your love and energy with me as I step into this next adventure.

With love and gratitude,
Lauren Cameron
